However, the employer will only be able to claim 70% of this from the Government, having to top up the remaining 10% from their own funds. Employers are also required to pa pension contributions and national insurance contributions and can no longer make these part of the furlough claim.
From 1 October 2020, the scheme will change again, with employees still receiving 80% of salary under the scheme, but employers only able to claim 60% of this cost from the Government, with the extra 20% being funded by the employer.
