Hang out with Hamers: Savanna Jowett

Read the latest edition of our 'Hang out with Hamers' series.

At Hamers, we’re committed to providing friendly, local law. It’s what we do best.

We strip away all the legal jargon and focus on providing clients with a personal, hassle-free experience.

To do that, we’ve built a professional, friendly team of experts who are on hand to make sure our clients receive the best service possible.

To help you get to know them better, we launched our “Hang out with Hamers” series.

Today we catch up with Conveyancing Assistant, Savanna Jowett.

    Q) Tell us about your role at Hamers – what does a typical day look like?

I work with Sophie in the residential conveyancing team and assist her in whatever she’s working on each day.

My role mainly involves dictation, post completion work, submitting documents to the land registry and providing email updates to clients.

I also help provide reception cover, welcoming clients and taking calls.

    Q) What do you enjoy most about your job?

The people I work with. It’s such a nice working environment and we have a really strong supportive team.

The management team are also great. They are all so helpful and really care about their colleagues.

I also like that there are opportunities for me to grow and progress at Hamers. I’m still very early in my career and I really enjoy what I’m doing right now, but the team are really supportive of people doing further training if they wish to, which is really encouraging if I do decide to do that.

    Q) Tell me one thing people wouldn’t expect about working for a law firm.

It’s not as serious as you’d expect. I was really intimidated when I started my very first job working in a law firm, and thought it would be a really serious environment, but we are always having a laugh.

    Q) What do you like to do when you’re not at work?

I really like walking and hiking. I have two dogs, they are both Cockapoos, so I enjoy going out for long walks with them.

    Q) What’s one thing your colleagues wouldn’t know about you?

I can recite the alphabet backwards.

    Quick-fire Questions

    Q) You can invite any three people – dead or alive – to dinner. Who’s at the table?

Adele, Jennifer Anniston and Kris Jenner. Adele is one of my favourite singers and I would love to see her perform live and I really like the actress Jennifer Anniston. I’d love to meet Kris Jenner to ask her how she’s done it – how she’s made her whole family billionaires!

    Q) Favourite TV show?

As you might be able to guess from my Jennifer Anniston answer, my favourite show is Friends – it’s just such a comfort show.

    Q) What’s the best place you’ve been on holiday?

The Lake District, my sister lives there so I’ve been to visit her a lot and it’s such a nice place.

    Q) Early bird or night owl?

Early bird – you have to be when you have dogs!

    Q) If you could win an Olympic gold medal in any sport, what would it be?

I think it would have to be in one of the running competitions.
