    Statutory Payment changes: April 2023

    The changes affect payments including Minimum Wage, the National Living Wage and Statutory Sick Pay.

    The Department of Works and Pensions has provided details of the new statutory payment which will come into effect in April 2023.

    Payments for Statutory Maternity, Paternity, Adoption and Shared Parental and Parental Bereavement Pay will increase from £156.66 to £172.48 per week.

    Statutory Sick Pay will increase from £99.35 to £109.40 per week.

    Minimum Wage and National Living Wage will increase as follows:

    • 23+ – £9.50 to £10.42 per hour.
    • 21‐22 – £9.19 to £10.18 per hour
    • 18‐20 – £6.83 to £7.49 per hour.
    • 16‐17 – £4.81 to £5.28 per hour.
    • Apprentices – £4.81 to £5.28 per hour

    It is important that Payroll Departments are informed and implement these changes for April 2023.
